Vacationer

about

We wrote ‘Vacationer’ right after a pretty pivotal point in our lives. We had all flown out to the US to play SXSW 2020 and as soon as we landed, we read that they had banned all international flights and that SXSW was cancelled! We were all feeling a little lost and buzzing with all this energy we had built up for the festival. So, we drove our rented van around to all these national parks, hiked around, and made makeshift studios everywhere we went. We’d stopped rehearsing and started jamming. It changed the way I thought about music and making music. All of us hunched over our instruments, sitting on a cheap shag carpet, losing our minds and our worries in the music. It was like being in a trance. We ended up making an epic adventure from a really scary time. ‘Vacationer’ is about that adventure.

‘Vacationer’ appears on the band’s forthcoming debut album ‘What On Earth’ due for release March 4th 2022 via Fierce Panda Records, alongside the hypnotic ‘Rabbit’ taken from their 2019 debut EP ‘Pastel Pool’, and as ‘Slow Drive’, which appeared on their most recent EP 'Make Well' - between them clocking up well over 1.75 million streams on Spotify alone.

lyrics

Feels like I’ve been on a long long journey And I
need your light
I don’t usually go out this far but I
Felt so confined

You can get yourself together quickly
I need time
I jump off and when I feel the water hit me
It soothes my mind

Vacationers only stay until the real living begins
A vacation is all I need so I can come back home again

Feels like I’ve been on an epic voyage and forgot my life
I saw the sun bend around the earth and I felt satisfied

You can get yourself together quickly
I need time
I jump off and when I feel the water hit me
It soothes my mind

Vacationers only stay until the real living begins
A vacation is all I need so I can come back home again
